Now, it’s let’s find a deal time.
Discounts on Amazon | Gold Box New Deals. Every Day.
You read that right…new deals…every day. You may or may not have noticed the small tab marked as Today’s Deals at the top of the Amazon homepage. This is what it looks like:
Go ahead and click on it (it will open another window). There are a number of good deals to be found on this page. You never know when an offer will show up that you’ve been looking for and for a much better price then you would have found.
Let’s start with the Deal of the Day. This is what it looks like:
Amazon’s Deal of the Day is changed daily and offers steep discounts on whatever product Amazon decides on for the given day. The discounts are usually substantial.
As you can see from the image above the deal on that day was The Rodgers & Hammerstein Collection (The Sound of Music / The King and I / Oklahoma! / South Pacific / State Fair / Carousel) [DVD]. As you can see if you were looking for this dvd collection you would have saved $65.99 from the day before. That is a 66% savings in one day. Know any Rodgers & Hammerstein fans? The Deal of the Day is great for a last minute gift or even something to hide in the closet for later gifting. Right next to the Deal of the Day you will find…
When you open up Today’s Deals you will see Lightning Deals on the right side of the page.
Lightning Deals are similar to the Deal of the Day because they change. The difference is that Lightning Deals are available for only so long, and only at a given quantity. Certain items go really fast. You can see when I captured the screen the sale was on a Patriot Memory Supersonic Rage XT 32GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive. The regular price on that item is $39.99. The sale price is discounted by $5 dollars (a 25% savings). When I recorded this, there was only 52 minutes remaining to claim one. When the deal is over, it is over. It ends when they have sold a certain amount or when the time for that item has expired.
NOTE: When you click the links – the products advertised will not be the same as the images you’re seeing here. They change daily. Don’t worry the steps are the same and once you are on the page, you will see how easy it is to navigate to the product you are searching for.
You also get a sneak peak at what the next lightning deal will be (you just won’t know what the discount will be). Go ahead and click on the link.
As you can see the times are shown. The next lightning deal may be what you were looking for, or again, maybe a gift for down the road. Below the Deal of the Day box you will see a tab that looks like this: OUTLET
Go ahead and click on it. You have found the mother lode! When you click on this tab a new page of deals will open that you can actually sort through. You will see the Gold Box tab at the top of the page, but don’t click on it because we have already been there. On the right sidebar you will notice the same Deal of the Day that was offered on the previous page. Again, been there, done that. We want to start where we see the word Outlet.
Now we get to narrow our search down. As you can see there are several categories to browse through. For the purpose of this tutorial (and because I am a gal!) I am looking for some earrings…maybe I’ll give my Dad a hint
To find the earrings I look under the title: Top Outlet Deals in Fashion and then, under the subcategory of Jewelry (highlghted with a red box). Under the jewelry category I spot what I am looking for, a link that reads Up to 70% Off Earrings. Go ahead and click the link.
OR — You can scroll down until you see the Jewelry section (also shown below).
Now we can browse throught the current listings of earrings. We can narrow the search down a bit further by Metal Type. Directly under that title you will see four boxes marked:
Gold Gold Plated Sterling Silver Stainless Steel
I am going to look at some sterling silver earrings (highlights my skin tone so I click on the Sterling Silver tab to see what deals are available for me.
What do you think?
That’s it for now, but, I will be adding more discounts on Amazon links to save you even more money while shopping.
